Peter Eglington
Defying categorization, Eglington’s artworks are the culmination of a lifetime obsession with the “spirit realms”. Born in the early 1950’s in Australia, Peter Eglington’s life unfolded as an archetypal mirror of his counter cultural value systems. “Dropping out of main stream culture in 1970”, he spent the next 13 years traveling back and forth between Asia and Australia as part of an obsessive search for “enlightenment”. Peter’s works are the mirrors of self-realized experiences. Some would label his art as “outsider” or raw as he has never created art for exhibitions. His artwork is created from a space of deep contact with non-ordinary states of consciousness and reflect his immersion in tribal cultures from his childhood in aboriginal Australia to the peoples of the Amazon and tend to reflect earth-based themes combined with galactic futuristic visions and can be described as ‘visionary’.
